Day 1: Not Our Strength

Day 1

We’re so glad to be diving in together over the next 21 days! Fasting tends to be a taboo topic in churches and often we’ve seen when people don’t understand something they omit it. Fasting should not be omitted! In scripture we see Jesus went away to pray and fast OFTEN. Let this become a lifestyle not a once a year event.

Don’t Wait to Seek the Lord

Part of fasting is humbling ourselves and becoming weak.

2 Corinthians 12:10 says, “That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

During the fast, as you get weak focus on His strength. Focus on what He can do for you and what He is doing in you. Remember, fasting doesn’t change God it changes you! Regardless of what you are fasting, don’t wait until you are weak in that area to seek the Lord.

Over the next 21 days find one day consistently per week to fast all food for 24 hours. Fasting is powerful because when your flesh is weak your spirit has great opportunity to become strong! We’re leaning on Him not our strength.

He Desires Relationship

Lastly, you are not the only one to read scripture or be in prayer and not “get” anything. Be encouraged, even that you can take to the Lord! Simply tell Him you aren’t getting anything and desire to hear Him. He is a person and craves your honesty and will respond! So, start a journal of what God is speaking to you. Use our 21 Day Fast booklets and follow along this journey with us! If you don’t have a booklet you can request one on THIS PAGE. We’re happy to send you one!

We love you, we bless you, we’ll see you tomorrow!
